Dairy
We have grown up hearing that milk is good for health. It indeed is but if you are experiencing hair fall, it could be due to excessive dairy consumption. While dairy products are rich in proteins, they are also high in fat content which is not good for hair health. Their consumption is found to increase testosterone hormone levels in some people which triggers hair fall. People who have acute dandruff, scalp infection, psoriasis or eczema should avoid dairy and see if it improves their condition.
Overconsumption of sugar is also associated with scalp inflammation that causes itchiness and burning sensation on the scalp. Continuous itching and untreated inflammation can also cause hair fall. In a nutshell, reducing sugar from your diet can save you from a myriad of health problems.
Refined Carbs
Carbohydrates have a great taste but bad reputation in the health background. Consumption of carbohydrates is one of the main reasons why you might be experiencing hair fall. Foods like bread, pizzas, pastas, cakes, biscuits, etc. contain refined carbs that affect hair health. Carbs are converted to sugar which is bad, as explained earlier.
Carbonated Drinks
Fizzy drinks might feel comforting after a heavy meal but this habit might make you bald in the long run. This is not completely true but if you keep consuming carbonated drinks, that too in excess, you can certainly lose your hair. These drinks have carbon dioxide gas that interferes with insulin production in the body as well as blood circulation. So, it is better to avoid them and consume healthy fluids like coconut water, fresh fruit juice, lemonade, etc.
Alcohol
Apart from damaging kidneys, alcohol can also cause hair damage to a great extent. It causes dehydration which makes hair brittle, dry and damaged. Your hair needs moisture to hold onto the roots and remain healthy. Cutting down on alcohol intake can bring visible results. Apart from this, you should also oil your hair once or twice a week for hair nourishment.
