One of the most obvious physical characteristics is height. You might have seen endless advertisements touting to increase height and don’t want to go by any phony claims anymore. What about exercising your way to be tall? Exercise is the best possible way to help you grow taller and achieve your maximum height, naturally. Though genetic factors determine height, it can be influenced to an extent by physical factors like diet and exercise. Proper exercise helps in toning and strengthening your muscles, releasing the growth hormones which are responsible for height gain. These exercises are simple to do and do not require help of fitness exercises while performing. Do at home or at the end of your work in your gym, these exercises are sure to help you gain a few extra inches. 

Following are some exercises that will help you grow taller: 


Skipping rope is one thing that you must learn when trying to reach your maximum height. Jumping rope increases blood supply and exerts pressure on the long bones of the body to grow in length. It also helps in weight loss to a great extent

Side bends

It is one exercise that will help you increase height. You have to stand vertically on your feet kept flat on the floor, bend your body sideways and stretch as far as you can. Hold the position for 15 seconds and repeat it with the other side of the body. Do this exercises everyday as a part of your workout schedule and see the difference for yourself. 

Cobra pose

This exercise is easy to be done but requires great precision and concentration while performing it. Lie down flat on the floor with your chest facing down. Keep your lower body still, lift your upper body and try to stretch as much as possible. Hold the position for 15 seconds and bring your body back to the initial position slowly. The exercise stretches the upper body and helps you grow taller.

Vertical stretch

If you are not comfortable with exercises, this simple exercise is for you. Stand on your toes, lift your body with arms facing up. Stretch your body as high as you can. Hold your hands there for at least 30 seconds. The exercise stretches the spine to help you grow taller in the course of time.

Vertical bends

It is one of the excellent grow-taller exercises, wherein you stand with your legs slightly apart. Bend down and try to touch the floor without bending your knees. This movement flexes the spine. Initially, you should try to touch the floor, but it is better if you can place your palm entirely on the floor. This will take some time. So don’t lose heart and keep doing it every day for best results. 

Lying two-way stretch

Lie flat on the floor. Your chest must face up, and your arms rest on the floor straight above your head. Stretch your arms and legs simultaneously. Hold the position for 20 seconds before bringing arms and legs to rest.
