The creator of the iconic Dilbert comic strip, Scott Adams, has shared a distressing update regarding his ongoing battle with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. In a recent video update on his YouTube channel, the 68-year-old cartoonist revealed that he is now paralysed below the waist. Adams, who first announced his aggressive diagnosis in May 2025, stated that while he still has feeling in his lower body, he has lost all ability to move his muscles.

"The Odds Of Me Recovering Are Essentially Zero," Scott Adams Describes His Cancer

In his livestream, Adams laid it bare: "I can't move any muscles... I do have a feeling. Just can't move." Plan: Haul to radiation facility, fry spine tumour. "If all goes well... I might get some strength back in my lower body."

The new year has brought a combination of neurological and cardiovascular challenges for the cartoonist. Just weeks ago, Adams confirmed that he is paralysed below the waist due to a tumour pressing against his spine.

In addition to the paralysis, Adams revealed on Thursday that he is now dealing with "ongoing heart failure." This combination of advanced cancer and cardiac complications has led Adams to tell his audience that his recovery is no longer a medical expectation.

Scott Adams’ Plea to Donald Trump

One of the most publicized aspects of Adams’ health battle was his direct appeal to President-elect Donald Trump in November 2025. Adams claimed his insurance provider had "dropped the ball" on scheduling Pluvicto, a targeted radioligand therapy designed for advanced prostate cancer that has spread to the bones.donald trump (1)

Adams pleaded with Trump to "save" his life by ensuring he received the drug. Trump responded with a short message, "On it!", and Adams was successfully scheduled for the treatment shortly after.

By late December, Adams informed his followers that the Pluvicto treatment had hit a "roadblock" because his doctors had to prioritise emergency radiation for his spinal tumour over the IV medication.

Conclusion

Scott Adams has spent decades using his platform to satirise the corporate world, but his current focus is on a deeply personal and difficult "end-of-life" reality. By choosing to share his diagnosis, his paralysis, and his recent heart failure so openly, he has provided a raw look at the complexities of the American healthcare system and the limits of modern medicine.
