Foods To Eat
Pomegranate: Pomegranate fruit is very good to eat when diagnosed with dengue. It helps in building the blood platelet count which tends to lower down in dengue.
Papaya leaf: Papaya leaf extract has papain and chymopapain, both of which boost digestion and treat other stomach-related ailments. Drinking papaya leaf juice daily helps to increase the blood platelet count.
Coconut Water: If you are suffering from dengue, you will feel dehydrated. Just water isn’t enough, drink coconut water to maximize hydration and minimize the effects of dengue.
Turmeric: We all know the amazing anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric. Drinking turmeric milk (Haldi Doodh) would fasten your recovery from dengue.
Orange: Oranges are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants which help to improve the health by slowly releasing the virus from the body.
Fenugreek: Popularly called Methi, is a mild tranquilizer that reduces the body pain that dengue patients generally feel during the recovery process. It also helps to stabilize body temperature and promote peaceful sleep.

Fried foods: It is necessary to give up your oily food preferences until your health gets back on track. Go for healthy foods only to regulate cholesterol and blood pressure. Consumption of oily foods may, in fact, aggravate the symptoms and weaken the immune system!
Caffeinated drinks: Your body needs fluid during the recovery but caffeinated drinks are a big NO! These aerated beverages contain preservatives that would obstruct the recovery process. Consumption of such drinks may lead to muscle breakdown, fatigue, irregular heart rate and many more such health complications.

Spices: You might not like the bland food you are told to eat but this is important. Spicy food would produce acid in the stomach which may hamper the recovery process. If you consume spices when down with dengue, it might double the complications.
