Coping with TB, DOTS of Hope
B.Hanumanthu suffers from MDR-TB. He left the course of medicines in between as he found taking the medicines very difficult as he vomited every time he took the medicine. His health having been deteriorated further, with emotional support from his wife and family he is considering getting admitted to the Government chest and TB hospital at Hyderabad.
K. Shamrao is HIV+ has also contracted tuberculosis, being consoled by Dr. Sujai Suneetha at the Nirekshana Centre at Hyderabad. Nirekshana works for the treatment and welfare of HIV+ patients. As per estimate, about two third of all HIV+ patients are likely to contract TB.

Omkarani bursts into a spontaneous smile, as she discusses with friends about her successful cure from extra pulmonary TB. She attributes her regular intake of TB medicines for her cure.
