“When it comes to determining the healthier oil between coconut oil and olive oil, the scales tip in favour of olive oil. Especially for heart health, it places itself at the forefront. Its monounsaturated fats, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties make it a superior choice for overall well-being,” says Dr Ganesh Chaudhary, Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS).

Further Dr Chaudhary said that this doesn't imply that coconut oil should be entirely disregarded. While the current research is inconclusive, moderate consumption of coconut oil may still have a place in certain culinary applications and skincare routines. As with any dietary choice, moderation and a well-rounded approach are crucial.

Opt for extra virgin olive oil

This type of olive oil undergoes minimal processing and retains more nutrients and antioxidants.

Diversify your oil usage
