Ideally, less than 18%. If you get to 12, your veins will anyway be bursting.”

The expert also highlights the role of exercise and hydration. “If you want your veins to look good at the moment, you can do a lot of reps with low weights. This gives you the pump as it increases blood flow through your veins and your muscles. Dehydration can flatten your veins. So make sure you’re hydrated and have taken enough electrolytes so that your veins look pumped up.” According to Dr Jacob, vascularity isn’t just about genetics. It’s about strategy.
