Cardi B Shares Tips on Preventing Postpartum Depression After Welcoming Her Third Child

After the birth of her third child, Cardi B has been candid about her postpartum recovery and how she’s navigating this period with a renewed approach to self-care. Unlike her previous experiences, this time, the rapper is focusing on maintaining her mental and physical health through consistent exercise, a strategy she believes is key to preventing postpartum depression.

Prioritizing Physical Activity for Mental Well-being

In a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Cardi B opened up about how staying physically active has been crucial in her postnatal recovery journey. Rather than engaging in intense strength training or high-impact exercises, Cardi has been focusing on lighter workouts, particularly cardio. She noted that cardio exercises not only help her regain physical stamina but also keep her mentally engaged, which she believes plays a significant role in preventing postpartum depression.

"I’m not doing heavy lifting, no muscle straining, squatting, none of that… just cardio. Sometimes, to avoid postpartum depression, you gotta keep your mind busy, and for me, that’s work and staying active," Cardi shared in a tweet, emphasizing the mental benefits of staying physically active during the postpartum phase.

Cardi B's Shift in Attitude Toward Recovery

While societal pressures to "bounce back" quickly after giving birth often weigh heavily on women, the rapper seems unfazed by these expectations. In response to fans who commented on the unrealistic expectations placed on new mothers, Cardi noted that she has never been one to rush her post-birth recovery process. However, she admitted that this time she feels more energised and ready to tackle her goals head-on.
