In a recent podcast interview, Boney Kapoor shared that the motivation for his weight loss came after making a promise. “I am a man of extreme willpower. I have committed to myself that I will lose 3 kg more. I am 88 now, I should be 85. I weighed 114 kg, the average weight I lost was 26 kg,” he shared.
What makes his journey stand out is how simple and sustainable it is, with no fancy diets, no strain of workout routines, and no pricey wellness programs. Instead, Boney relied on clean eating, portion control, and consistency.

And though most of them rely on rigorous workouts to help them get rid of unwanted kilos, the case of Boney Kapoor shows what nutrition can do. He said his entire weight transformation was guided by a structured and mindful diet:
- Morning routine: Fresh juices, fruits like amla and kiwi, and a two-egg-white omelette.
- Lunch: Light and balanced. Sometimes just a bowl of soup; on other days, jowar roti paired with dal and vegetables. The choice of jowar, a gluten-free millet high in fibre, keeps energy levels stable and supports digestion.
- Snacks at work: Whenever hunger strikes, instead of reaching for other processed snacks, he settles for a besan cheela, a rich source of proteins with low fat content.
- Dinner: Simple, protein-focused and early. His standard night-time meal consists of tandoori chicken and soup or just two glasses of soup.
This naturally cuts down on calories; keeps the digestive system light and prevents overeating at night, which is considered one of the biggest culprits for hard-to-get-rid-of tummy fat.

What Is a Realistic Weight Loss Plan?
What makes his routine relatable is that it allows for flexibility. Boney Kapoor says that the occasional indulgence, too, is part of the plan. "At least one day is a cheat day. We have such a social life, we can't throw tantrums". he stated.
This approach avoids guilt and therefore makes the transformation viable in the long run.
Boney Kapoor’s A Holistic Lifestyle Change
Besides food, another dramatic lifestyle change that has made Boney feel healthier than he has in years was giving up smoking. Taking charge of his health meant letting go of habits that don't serve his body anymore. With this new discipline, he believes he has acquired something more than a leaner frame.
He says these changes have made him feel "younger and healthier" now.
