Fitness Expert Shares 3 Worst Breakfast Options For Busy People

Many busy people rush through their mornings and either skip breakfast or grab something quick and easy. But these choices are often not as healthy as they seem. Missing your first meal or eating the wrong foods can leave you tired, hungry, and craving snacks all day. Fitness expert Siddhartha Singh shares the three worst breakfast options for people on the go and what you should eat instead to stay full and energised.

The 3 Worst Breakfasts for Busy People

Below are the list of items that busy people should avoid in the morning as their breakfast.

1. Peanut Butter and Toast

Siddhartha Singh says, “The first one is peanut butter and toast. We are eating fats, carbs and very little protein in the morning. The worst is that you won't be able to stand it. You will feel hungry after an hour. Then you will order and eat it.”

While peanut butter and toast seem filling, they lack enough protein. You might feel satisfied for a short time, but hunger comes back quickly. This can lead to overeating later in the day.

2. Fruit Smoothie

“The second one is a fruit smoothie. Fruit smoothie means no healthy fat, no protein. It means blood sugar will go down. It will go down, and then we have to say welcome to cravings,” Siddhartha explains.

Fruit smoothies are tasty and quick, but they are mostly sugar. Without protein or healthy fats, your blood sugar spikes and then drops, making you feel tired and crave more food.

3. Black Coffee

Siddhartha admits, “The third one is black coffee. Black coffee means acidity, cravings and even an increase in our stress hormone, cortisol.”

Many people think skipping food and just having coffee is a good idea. But black coffee on an empty stomach can cause acidity, raise your stress hormones, and make you crave unhealthy snacks later.

Siddhartha recommends three high-protein breakfasts that are easy to prepare and keep you full longer:

  • Protein shake with banana and peanut butter

This gives you a balance of protein, healthy fats, and carbs. It’s quick, filling, and helps control hunger.

  • Overnight oats (oats + milk + whey + nuts)

Prepare it the night before. It’s packed with fibre, protein, and healthy fats, making it a perfect grab-and-go meal.

  • Greek yoghurt with whey protein and nuts

High in protein and healthy fats, this breakfast is creamy, satisfying, and keeps you energised for hours.

Foods That Help You Stay Full and Energised

Here are some foods to include in your breakfast for lasting energy:

  • Eggs (boiled, scrambled, or as an omelette)
  • Cottage cheese or paneer
  • Whole grain bread or oats
  • Nuts and seeds (almonds, walnuts, chia seeds)
  • Fresh fruits (for natural sweetness and fibre)
  • Milk or unsweetened yoghurt

These foods provide a good mix of protein, fibre, and healthy fats to keep you satisfied.

Conclusion

Skipping breakfast or eating the wrong foods can make your day harder. Peanut butter toast, fruit smoothies, and black coffee may seem easy, but they don’t give your body what it needs. Choose high-protein, balanced breakfasts to stay full, focused, and healthy, even on your busiest mornings.
