What is the expected duration of Dengue?


  • The disease is usually mild and self limiting illness in most people. The acute phase of the illness (that is fever, myalgias and other symptoms) can last about 7-10 days.
  • Some patients may feel fatigued and weak (asthenia), for up to a month after the infection and full recovery can take several weeks.

Some patients with dengue fever can progress to DHF or DSS. The time taken for patients who develop DHF and DSS to recover depends on the severity of complication.
