The surprising news is that this brew is even known to shed weight, and scientists have shown how tea has high levels of compounds that can battle the absorption of fat. Star anise Tea

This tea is the fruit of a small evergreen tea which is native to China, and promotes digestion. It can be used in the treatment of digestive troubles such as an upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, etc. You can drink this tea by steeping a whole pod in one cup of hot water for about 10 minutes. Then you could sweeten it after straining, and sip slowly when you have an upset tummy.

Green Tea

Already considered to be a very good variety of tea for losing weight, research says that the chemical EGCG that is found in this tea speeds up the body’s metabolism. Therefore, this helps people in losing the extra kilos; in fact it has the capacity to burn a whooping 70 calories a day. Also green tea raises the level of antioxidants, like antioxidant catechins in green tea boosts metabolism and helps burn your fat. The steeping time for green tea is two to three minutes at 85 degree Celsius.

Rose Tea

The rose tea is considered to be good for preventing constipation and is one of the oldest flavouring teas available. It is made by mixing fresh roses and the bud of the tea, this has a major therapeutic effect on the human body. Then apart from clearing toxins and beautifying the skin rose tea also contains vitamins A, B3, C, D and E, and is known to act against infections. Rose tea thus prevents constipation and helps one to lose weight.

Oolong Tea

This is a semi-fermented tea that may have a stronger effect that even green tea, research says so. This tea promotes fat burning and also helps to reduce your cholesterol and the concentration of fat in the body. You are recommended to drink two cups per day. You should steep oolong tea for 30 seconds to five minutes, for a more full bodied cup.

Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea is a good option, and you should rotate this with a green tea drink as both of these can speed up your digestion and hence you to burn more calories. The leaves of peppermint tea can be used to make a light, refreshing tea, which can be drunk either hot chilled. You must take a tablespoon of fresh or dried leaves and then add to boiling water. Let it then stay there for four to five minutes and finally strain it. You could even add some honey if it is needed.
