Nail biting is a habit that can wreck havoc on your nails and the overall look of your fingers. Every night before going to sleep, visualize yourself with those long and healthy nails. Each time you are tempted to bite your nails, see the picture and visualize yourself again.
Have a Plan
Make a plan which will have a scheduled day on which you would have completely stopped biting your nail. This does not mean that you will have to do it on the scheduled day but, it is just a way to show commitment towards your goal. Make a mention of the day on a calendar and stay focused.
Cover your Nails with Adhesive Bandages
Cover your nails with adhesive bandages to avoid biting them. You can apply fresh bandages each time you shower. If it hurts you at night, you can remove and re-apply them in the morning. Do this for a few weeks and when you uncover your nails, you will be surprised to notice how much better they look.
One Nail at a Time
Pick a finger for each day that you would not bite the entire day. Keep biting all the other nails and by the end of the day notice how much better that finger looks when compared with the rest of the finger nails. Pick a finger everyday and continue doing this till you quit the habit completely.
It is not impossible to quit this habit. All it needs is a little bit of determination and a little know-how about these helpful remedies.
