Gone are the days when women used to go for shopping and men used to wait for them holding  their shopping bags. Today's metrosexual man is enormously conscious about his own attire. Go around the city and you will find lots of brands for men,  giving a tough competition to women's fashion. From jeans, t-shirts, mega sleeves shirts to inner wear and footwear, the range is so large that men have to spend hours to decide what to pick and what not to pick.  To make it easier for you we strolled in the busiest markets of Delhi and discovered new trends that can give an elegant style to any man walking down the street…..

Skinny  jeans

Jeans have always been close to a man's heart. Men of all ages look attractive in jeans. However a little bit of experiment with your jeans can turn countless eyes towards you. Straight fit, boot cut, loose fit, relaxed fit jeans have ruled the markets for long. But now it is the time for  'skinny jeans'. Skinny jeans favour both men and women. Reason being, it makes you look slim. "Low rise skinny jeans can do wonders for a fashion freak. It makes you look taller, slim and gives a modelesque look," says Neeraj Bhatti, manager of Levis, Connaught Place. Skinny jeans with pointed leather shoes make a wonderful combination.

Chicly check printed shirts

Fashion repeats itself and with checks printed shirts this rings true. From boys to men this print goes well with everyone. Tuck it inside trousers or put out on your jeans it gives a perfect look. "In my shop I usually suggest my customers to wear short check printed shirts in different styles. Wearing a light t-shirt inside with an unbuttoned checks printed shirt or by foulding the half sleeves of these shirts till your biceps appear overtly is exactly what I've explored with my customers and believe me it really works out," reveals Armaan Khan, a fashion designer and a  jeans shop owner. Next time, instead of playing with checks on your chess board, play with them in your wardrobe.

Tap a foot with poise

To be ready for any occasion, it's best to have a variety of shoe styles in your closet. Sneakers now come in many styles and they can be comfortably worn with nearly anything in a man's wardrobe. Slip-on shoe styles are apt for summers and monsoons as you can relax your toe without making much effort for opening your shoe laces. Leather shoes without laces can make you look like a royal gentleman.

Some tips for men fashion:

o  If you have a round face, opt for a point collar. Men with narrow faces should go for a spread collar.

o  Choose grey undershirts instead of white undershirts which are visible through light coloured shirts.

o  When buying jeans, always say no to black denim, stretch denim, and God forbid, all that monkey washes.

o  Socks should match your pants, not your shoes.
