According to a study in the journal Nature Medicine, individuals using semaglutide (Ozempic) experienced an average weight loss of 10% of their body weight. The study also found that waist size decreased by more than 7 cm (about 2.7 inches) over four years. The amount of weight lost with Ozempic was much greater than with other weight-loss medications, which usually resulted in only 3% to 7% weight loss.

Varnit Yadav, exercise and nutrition coach, says that Ozempic helps regulate blood glucose levels but has a few side effects such as constipation, nausea, dizziness, headache, and vomiting. Detailing how it affects weight loss, he added, “It can assist with weight loss by making you feel fuller and slowing digestion. However, one should always stick to the traditional methods for losing weight.”
