To get this asana right, stand straight. You right hands on the right ribs and the left on the left side. The hands should be placed in such a way that the fingers are kept in the intercostals space. With this, breathe deeply in and then out. Do it for a minimum of 10 times for breathing with the help of the intercostal muscles. This exercise helps in controlling the rapid breathing in asthmatic patients, bringing the body in motion for required weight loss.

Pranayam

The most important and known posture of all is Pranayam. For this, one has to sit in the sukhasana position with the palms on each knee. Once you get into the gyaan mudra, with your eyes closed, breathe in and out to get started. This posture is complete only when you have full concentration on your breathing. 

Abdominal Breathing

Abdominal breathing is essential for asthmatic patients looking to lose weight. For this yoga pose, place your hands on your navel while standing straight. Also, place your right palm on your left palm. After taking a deep breath, push your abdomen out to the maximum limit. While you breathe out, pull your stomach in. One can sleep comfortably with this exercise when facing difficulty in breathing.

Virasana

This is the cross-legged meditation pose, which is in practice since ancient times. In virasana, your chest stretched out, knees together, with two bolsters placed on the floor, parallel to each other. Sit with your back upright to tone the hamstring muscles and also relieve your stiff joints. This asana is also known as the hero pose. It helps in keeping the knees healthy.
