Holi is full of fun and colours. Applying colours to each other's face is compulsory on every Holi. But these colours are loaded with chemicals which can be very harmful to your skin and other organs. While celebrating Holi, the colour can enter into your eyes, nose, ears and mouth, which can lead to some severe problems if ignored. In such a situation you must be very careful and follow a few steps to get rid of all the colour from your delicate body parts. We spoke to Dr. Ram Ashish Yadav who is a medical officer at Siddhartha Nagar Uttar Pradesh to guide us through the basic steps one can follow if the colour enters into your eyes, ears, nose or mouth.
For eyes
Dr. Ram Ashish explains that eyes are one of the most delicate organs of the human body. If the colour gets into your eyes you should get rid of the colour before it turns into something severe. You should first wash your eyes several times with water. Do not use too hot or cold water. Do not rub your eyes. You may feel some irritation or burning sensation. If it continues even after washing your eyes with water then you must visit a doctor immediately.

For ears
Dry colours can enter into your ears which can lead to infections if not removed from your ears. If the colour gets into your ears tilt your head and shake your ear to remove the colour as much as possible. After this only some amount of colour would be left in your ears which you can clean using an earbud later.
For mouth
Dry as well as wet colour can enter into your mouth. In such a situation you should gargle with water immediately. Do not let the colour go inside through your mouth. Throw all the colour outside and later clean your mouth properly with water. After sometime use a mouthwash or warm water. Do not eat anything at that moment. Wait for at least one hour before you eat something.
