Fried Foods
Pakoras, samosa, kachori, french fries, vadas, fried chicken, all these favourite foods of yours you may have to give up if you look forward to a healthy lifestyle. These foods are high in calories as they are mostly deep fried. It can lead to weight gain, acidity and many other health problems. According to Chheda, these foods have unhealthy fats which promote weight gain and obesity. Obesity can cause diabetes and heart related problems, increasing the risk of heart attacks. Fried foods are also very difficult to digest.
Energy Drinks
Energy drinks contain high amounts of caffeine which can lead to a lot of health issues. Excessive caffeine content can cause high blood pressure, increased heart rate, insomnia, anxiety and palpitations. Packed beverages
Many packed beverages, such as sodas, fruit juices, and energy drinks, are filled with added sugars and consuming too much sugar can contribute to weight gain. It can also increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. Drinking these drinks can lead to the consumption of a lot of calories without getting any essential nutrients.
Frozen Foods
Starch is used to keep the frozen items fresh and it adds flavour to the food. But just before digestion, this starch converts into sugar before the digestion process takes place. This can spike the sugar levels in your blood and can increase the risk of diabetes. These foods are extremely high in fats as they are loaded with calories which can again not let you lose weight.

Instant Meals
In the fast paced life, where people find it difficult to make time to cook, instant meals become their best friends. But are they actually your friends? According to Chheda, they are one of the unhealthy foods that contain preservatives. Preservatives contain high amounts of sodium which can cause increased blood pressure. Incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet will help you enhance your health.
Why Should One Not Consume The Above Foods?
Answering this, Chheda said, “One should avoid these foods as these foods are generally high in unhealthy fats, calories, and are laden with sugar and additives. This contributes to a less balanced gut microbiome, weak nutrient absorption and high intake of calories,” adding, “If one consumes it on a regular basis it may lead to various lifestyle diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, high blood pressure, digestive issues, hormonal imbalance and so on.”
Bottomline
Concluding, Chheda said, “There are lots of individuals already living with such underlying health problems like diabetes, high/low blood pressure due to stress, poor food habits and absence of exercise. If one continues to have such high sugar and fatty foods it will lead to blood sugar spikes, increased blood pressure, and may worsen complications associated with these health issues. It’s crucial for them to maintain a balanced diet tailored to their specific health needs.”
