Wash your bedding regularly with hypoallergenic detergent. “Use allergen-proof covers for pillows and mattresses and consider over-the-counter antihistamines if allergies are severe, but consult your doctor first,” Dr Tyagi suggested.
3. Clean Your Ears Safely
If you didn't know until now, cotton swabs can do more damage than good. They can push wax further into the ear canal. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid its usage. Use earwax-softening drops if needed, or consult a healthcare professional for safe ear cleaning.
4. Manage Skin Conditions
If eczema or psoriasis affects your ears, follow your dermatologist’s treatment plan. Use gentle, fragrance-free cleansers and moisturisers to avoid irritation.
5. Ensure Proper Sleep Hygiene
This one goes without saying, change pillowcases at least once a week, and vacuum your bedroom regularly to reduce dust and allergens. And, keep pets out of your bed to minimise exposure to mites and dander.
