Is rapid weight loss with intermittent fasting beneficial?

According to Dr. Suman, intermittent fasting might help in losing weight quickly, but is not suggested as a long term method. Even if weight loss is gradual, it should be done in a healthy way. It is not considered as the best diet for weight loss. It can cause a lot of irritability, low blood pressure, poor concentration and many other disadvantages. "If you have a good body command, then only you should go for intermittent fasting otherwise it is best to follow a proper healthy diet plan."

Intermittent fasting to pregnancy diet

Along with health benefits and quick weigh loss, there are many side effects of intermittent fasting as well. It can lead to irritability and vitamin deficiencies in some people. During pregnancy, it is extremely important to take care of the nutrient consumption in every meal as the mother has to eat for both herself and the baby. Therefore, it is not advised to continue intermittent fasting if a woman is pregnant. Instead, focus on healthy eating and not sticking to a particular type of diet. The shift from intermittent fasting to a healthy pregnancy diet should be slow and gradual. Do not start overeating as soon as you find about the pregnancy. However, start getting back on a normal schedule through daily progress.

If you lost a substantial amount of weight but are still overweight, the pregnancy diet should not be like other routine diets. For obese pregnancy women, the whole process is about focusing on the vitamins, minerals and protein intake, instead of eating for two. However, do not keep your stomach empty and eat something after every two hours. Intermittent fasting triggers a calorie deficit due to the low calorie intake. Therefore, firstly, it is very important for the mother to fill that deficiency for better mental and physical health of herself and the baby.
