The world of social media often looks picture-perfect, with fancy vacations, sunlit selfies, glamorous events, and endless hustle. But sometimes, behind every stunning photograph and perfectly cut reel lies a human being dealing with stress, exhaustion, or diseases that nobody sees.
The influencer community has faced many deaths over the last few months and years, some for known health-related reasons, and others that remain unclear. Most recently, the tragic death of well-known travel creator Anunay Sood sent shockwaves through the digital world, sparking important conversations about mental and physical health, burnout, and the pressure to perform for the internet.
Influencers Who Died Due to Health Issues
Here are five creators and influencers who left us too soon, reminding us why wellness, mental and physical, is not optional.
1. Anunay Sood: Cause of Death Unknown
Renowned for his travel content, Anunay Sood inspired millions of people to chase sunsets, wander to places, and live freely. His reels captured adventure from cliffs and coastlines to mountains and airports.
When news of his death surfaced online, everyone was taken aback because he uploaded his last Instagram post quite recently. Taking it to his social media, Anunay’s family didn't disclose the exact cause of death and asked for privacy.
His passing opened a hard conversation that the people who, from the outside looking in, are living the dream may be battling private struggles or health concerns unknown to their followers.

2. Misha Aggarwal: Death Due to Suicide
Earlier in 2024, lifestyle influencer Misha Aggarwal passed away by suicide in Gurugram. As stated in the police reports, she had died by suicide. The sudden loss once again reignited the debate about how much emotional and mental pressure comes with constant public scrutiny and maintaining an online persona.
Misha's death saw an outpouring of tributes from people who followed her for her relatable content and warm personality. It also sparked the conversation of mental health support and awareness, especially in creative careers where comparison, burnout, and trolling are common.

3. Pranshu Yadav: Death Due to Suicide
Another well-known beauty and fashion creator, Pranshu Yadav (glamitupwithpranshu), also died by suicide in 2024. Family confirmed that he was only in his teens. Reports revealed that the 16-year-old queer child took his life due to bullying.
While to some of his followers, he had been a rising star in the beauty world, confident, expressive, and full of vision, he was also called names and judged for his gender and life choices publicly. Reports also showed that he hid his mental health struggles and masked them with confidence and creativity.
4. Ankit Kalra: Death Due to Sudden Heart Attack
Ankit Kalra, the husband of influencer Insha Ghai, is another name in the creator industry who died suddenly. According to reports, he succumbed to a heart attack, which doctors suggest has now become a rising concern in young adults.
In other news, experts reveal that India is witnessing an alarming increase in sudden heart attacks among its younger citizens, often without prior warning. The typical causes include high stress levels and irregular lifestyle patterns, exacerbated by routinely ignoring initial symptoms.

5. Shefali Jariwala: Death Due to Cardiac Arrest
Shefali Jariwala's cause of death was officially reported as cardiac arrest. Reports indicate that a potential contributing factor to the cardiac arrest was a severe drop in blood pressure. This drop may have been triggered by Jariwala taking anti-ageing and other medications on an empty stomach. While one should only take medications as and when prescribed by medical experts, it also raises a very uncomfortable truth that lifestyle diseases are no longer age-specific.
What These Losses Teach Us
Social media influencers face unique stressors, from pressure to stay relevant and continue creating new content, inconsistent income, coupled with anxiety, online hate, trolling, and endless comparison, to burnout masquerading as productivity, and followers seeing only the final product and not the hustle, sleepless nights, or emotional toll taken. These tragedies remind us that:
- Mental health matters.
- Rest is not laziness.
- Health, both physical and emotional, should come before any algorithm.

To any creator who’s reading this, the world needs you more than your content. So, always prioritise your health, go to an expert/doctor if you don’t feel healthy, are constantly tired, or just suspect something unusual, as it can be a warning sign of an underlying issue.
Bottomline
Content creators may appear to live glamorous lives, but they are real people with real struggles. Let these stories be a reminder to prioritise health over hustle, numbers, or online perfection, both mental and physical. Also, remember that you’re contributing as a viewer. Be responsible with your comments and DMs, don’t spread hate or hide behind a screen to tear someone down. One harsh comment from you may stay with someone for the rest of their life. Choose empathy, it costs nothing, but it can mean everything.
