Hypertension or high blood pressure is one of the most common and serious health conditions worldwide. The rate with which hypertension cases are increasing is a matter of concern for all of us. Looking at a few years back, only aged people used to get this problem but now even youngsters are dealing with irregular blood pressure issues. While lifestyle is the main point to be blamed, certain internal factors trigger high BP or hypertension issues. One of them is the aldosterone hormone. Have you heard about this hormone before? This must be a new term for most people as it is the least heard unlike other hormones. If you love your health, you should know about aldosterone hormone effects on the body and aldosterone hormone disorders.
What is the Aldosterone hormone?
Have you heard the term adrenaline rush? Almost all of us know what adrenaline rush is and what it does to the body. The adrenal glands are the reason behind this rush and it happens due to the production of aldosterone hormone, a steroid hormone secreted by the outer layer of adrenal glands. While adrenaline rush is a positive effect, the negative effect of this hormone gets to the heart. It is a common but unacknowledged cause of high blood pressure in the human body.

Aldosterone Hormone Cause of High Blood Pressure
Aldosterone hormone is known to convert sodium in salivary glands, kidney, colon and sweat glands. The condition of excess production of aldosterone hormone is called aldosteronism which is dangerous for cardiovascular health as it causes hypertension or high blood pressure. This is validated by a combined research done by four medical institutions- the University of Alabama, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, University of Utah and the University of Virginia. The Research
The research got published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. Researchers studied various patients with all blood pressure conditions like Normal blood pressure, Hypertension stage 1, Hypertension stage 2 and resistant hypertension to check the level of aldosterone production and aldosteronism.
Upon examining the findings, one of the researchers post-research said: “Primary aldosteronism has traditionally been considered to be an uncommon cause of hypertension, however, the findings of this study show that it is much more common than previously recognized.”
