Children Show Milder Symptoms – Study
A study published in the journal Pediatrics stated that children show milder symptoms as compared to the adults. In this, 90 per cent of coronavirus positive children had mild symptoms. Besides, COVID-19 can also take a vicious form in children and parents should be alert in this situation if the child's result is positive, with mild to severe symptoms. Extra care must be given to kids who are tested positive to ensure that the treatment is smoother and the period of infection is lesser.
If the child shows the following signs as indicated here, then immediate medical attention is required:
- Breathlessness
- Having trouble swallowing any fluid
- State of confusion
- Fever
- Sore Throat
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 88 per cent patients have fever, 68 per cent develop cough, 38 per cent get fatigue, 18 per cent experience breathlessness, 14 per cent complain body pain. Some even experience chills and diarrhoea. Another thing to note is that several patients even have no symptoms, hence are asymptomatic. The coronavirus is 900 times smaller than human hair. Hence, one must take all necessary precautions to stay safe. Wash your hands regularly, wear a mask and gloves when going going and try to be indoors as much as possible. Avoid going to crowed places as there are instances where WHO has agreed to slight chances of coronavirus now becoming airborne.
