The 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics established by the Punjab Government are showing positive results. These clinics are facilitating early detection of diseases in patients across the state, playing a crucial role in saving numerous lives.
Timely identification of diseases in the elderly
Since Chief Minister Bhagwant Sing Mann assumed office, more than 2 crore people have received treatment at these clinics in the past two years. Notably, 14.6% of first-time elderly patients were unaware that they had high blood pressure, while 17% discovered for the first time that they were suffering from respiratory conditions.
CM Mann noted that many people often feel reluctant to get a diagnosis done or undergo health checkups. However, with the launch of free diagnosis services at Aam Aadmi Clinics, there has been a significant rise in the number of individuals opting for health checkups/tests. This proactive initiative has resulted in early detection and timely treatment of health disorders.
Health Data Collection is Underway
In the Aam Aadmi Clinic, efforts are made to gather not only treatment data but also comprehensive information about individuals. This approach ensures that if a patient later develops a serious illness, their medical history can be readily accessed to facilitate appropriate treatment.
