Certain factors affect prognosis (chance of recovery).

The prognosis (chance of recovery) depends on the following:

  • Whether there are any cancer cells left after surgery
  • The type of tumor
  • The location of the tumor
  • The child's age
  • Whether the tumor has just been diagnosed or has recurred (come back).
