Heart isn’t only an organ. It is the pump that injects life into your body. The heart plays an important role in keeping the body moving by performing the two most vital functions: to pump blood to the lungs to retrieve oxygen and to pump that oxygen to the bloodstream to supply it to the rest of the body.
The heart is a muscle and just like any other muscle of the body, it also needs to be kept trained. When your heart is functioning properly, the body also works like a well kept car's engine. If your heart is in good shape, it can cope up with the stress and fatigue that your body experiences everyday.
Constant motion of the body keeps the heart fit and functioning well. A healthy heart can bestow upon your body numerous benefits amongst which some are listed below.
When a heart is healthy and strong, it lets the body function more efficiently. This enables the body to stand strenuous activities and perform daily tasks comfortably.
A healthy heart knows when to beat faster and when to beat slower. The beating of heart lowers down while the body rests. This lets the heart to work less and avoid wearing out before time.
If you have a well-functioning heart, you are at a much lesser risk of a stroke. In a healthy condition, the arteries attached to the heart experience no blockage and supply oxygen-rich blood to the body interruption-free. But, when your heart does not function properly, the chances of a heart attack are multiplied. To avert the chances of a heart attack, even a 5-minute running session can prove to be of great help.
A healthy heart has the ability to repair the damages caused by a disease. It undertakes a proper process of functioning and heals the damage over time.
One of the top functions of the heart is to purify the blood and transport it to the body. When your heart isn’t healthy enough, its ability to purify the blood is hindered. Hence, the body starts receiving impure blood which can give birth to many diseases.
Clearly, the necessity of having a healthy heart must go without saying.
