Honey for asthma

A common home cure for asthma is honey, which is very beneficial. It is believed that if a jug full of honey is held beneath the nose of an asthma patient, he or she inhales air that passed through honey. This honey-remedy makes breathing easier and deeper.


Figs for asthma

Figs are a popular form of treatment for asthma that provide comfort to the asthma patient. It helps by draining off the phlegm. To use figs for asthma treatment, you need to properly clean three or four dry figs with warm water and soak them through the night.


Lemon and Indian gooseberry for asthma

A glass of lemon water with every meal proves to be helpful for asthma patients. A mixture of honey with five grams of Indian Gooseberry is a precious medical tonic for asthmatics. Consume this every morning.


Bitter gourd roots for asthma

Since early times, bitter gourd roots are well-known as an effective home remedy for asthma. Make a paste of roots and mix one tablespoon with same amount of honey or tulsi’s juice. Consume it every night for one month.


Ginger for asthma

Prepare a brilliant expectorant for asthma by mixing a teaspoon of fresh ginger juice with a cup of fenugreek decoction. Add honey for better taste. The decoction of fenugreek can be made by adding one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in a cupful of water. This remedy can be very effective, if consumed twice a day.


Garlic for asthma

Ten garlic cloves if boiled in 30 ml of milk makes for an excellent medicine to cure asthma at early stages. Asthma patients should consume it once in a day.  Two cups of steaming ginger tea in a day with two minced garlic cloves can also help to keep asthma at bay.

Bishop's Weed for asthma

Take half a teaspoon of bishop's weed mixed in a glass of buttermilk, twice a day. Consumption of this will relieve you from dried-up phlegm, which causes difficult expectoration. The asthma patient can also breathe in boiling water mixed with ajwain. It will clean the bronchial passages for easier breathing.


Safflower for asthma

For bronchial asthma, take half a teaspoon of powder of the safflower dry seeds and mix them with a tablespoon of honey. This acts as an expectorant and decreases the spasms by liquefying the tenacious sputum. Take it twice in a day.
