Dandruff is a common condition and affects the scalp and causes flakes of skin to appear. The skin cells continually renew themselves. When the skin-cell on the scalp renew themselves, they push the dead cells to the surface of the scalp. For a person who is prone to dandruff, more dead cells are shed, thereby making the dandruff noticeable.
Dandruff can be caused by these factors:
- the sebaceous glands in the scalp produce too little oil.
- stress
- poor hygiene of scalp
- of an underlying fungal infection of the scalp.
- overuse of shampoos
- chemical based hair treatments
- weather conditions
