Hypertension is a fascinating and different disease entity.

 

Most people with hypertension have no signs or symptoms even if their blood pressure is very high. Very few people in early-stages of high blood pressure can have symptoms like dull headaches, dizzy spells or nosebleeds. But high blood pressure can do immense harm to the body like it increases the risk of heart disease, kidney disease and stroke. Hence hypertension is also called as the "silent killer."

Experts say that all adults should regularly get evaluated to diagnose hypertension. Your doctor will measure your BP to diagnose hypertension. As, the blood pressure can vary your doctor will like to take blood pressure readings at three different times to confirm the hypertension. If you have diabetes and high levels of cholesterol--- high blood pressure will increase your risk of heart attack and stroke.
