This process is also called as 15-15 rule in which the blood sugar levels are between 55-70 mg/dl. You can follow the given steps below in order to ensure you have minimal carbs in your diet. This also allows sugar to reach your bloodstream on time. Different age group people need to intake different amount of carbohydrates.

  1. Infants just need 6 grams of carbs
  2. Toddlers might need around 8 grams
  3. Small children may need around 10 grams of carbs

In case of children with diabetes, doctors also prefer to have optimal diet plan and precautionary steps, so that the health of the child does not get worse anytime soon. This rule should not be followed if the blood sugar has dropped even below 55mg/dL.

Effect of 15 Rule diet on Hypoglycemia

After eating relevant amount of carbohydrates in your diet, it is important that you control your other nutrient levels accordingly. Digestive system in the body helps to break down carbs into a type of sugar that responses quickly to the bloodstream and tissues over there. Rule of 15 provides your tissues and internal organs with energy that remains in the body for a few hours and prevents any kind of collapse.
