A few days later, small white spots may develop inside the mouth, followed by a distinctive red, blotchy rash that starts on the face and spreads across the body. In severe cases, measles can lead to complications such as pneumonia, brain swelling, and even death.

The CDC warns that measles outbreaks are preventable through widespread vaccination. However, the increasing number of vaccine exemptions in certain communities poses a significant risk.
