In a society that immensely values family, the road to parenthood can be difficult and frustrating especially when faced with infertility among other challenges. Fortunately, with the help of medical advancements, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) has become a ray of hope. This technology has helped many couples and single parents in India realise their dream of having offspring through this method. Here are some inspiring IVF success stories from Indian celebrities that break stereotypes and redefine what it means to be a parent.
Particularly in India, the success rates are impressive for women under 35 years of age, with success rates ranging between 30-35 percent and even reaching up to 40-50% on par with international standards. Moreover, the success rates with donor eggs in India can be as high as 50 to 70% in one attempt and up to 90% in three attempts, showcasing the promising outcomes that IVF offers to couples seeking assisted reproduction. Overall, the success rate of IVF in India, currently between 35 to 40 percent, stands out as notably higher compared to other countries, making it a favourable choice for many individuals seeking fertility assistance.

A Journey of Hope and Perseverance: Soniya and Rahul’s Path to Parenthood
Recalling their story, Rahul shares, “I met Soniya in 2007 and we tied the knot in April of the same year. We made the decision to visit a fertility doctor after a few years of trying to get pregnant. We tried in vitro fertilization (IVF) at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, but after two failed cycles, we proceeded to University Hospital in Ohio for a second opinion and three more cycles of IVF. Sadly, they didn't work either, which made us think about giving up on our desire to become parents.” But we were referred to Dr. Rita Bakshi by a friend who had conquered infertility issues. We decided to give it one last shot, and while we had some initial success, we tragically lost the baby in the last stages of the pregnancy in the United States. Resolved to persevere, we went back to India to receive additional medical care.
Our dedication paid off after 12 years of hardship—we were blessed with twins, a girl and a boy. The doctor's unwavering commitment and support enabled this happiness.”

Overcoming Adversity: The Inspirational Journey of Divyesh and Anita Chauhan
Pari, the daughter of Divyesh and Anita Chauhan, is the source of their happiness and the joy of their existence. On the other hand, their path to parenting is one of tenacity and resolve.
After more than two years of trying to conceive naturally, their attempts were thwarted when Mr. Divyesh's sperm count fell from 20 million to barely 2 million due to a serious scrotal lesion he sustained in an accident.
They saw many physicians before being finally referred to doctors at IVF centre. Apart from the physical obstacles, the couple had to deal with the psychological stress that frequently follows infertility and social pressure. Mental health is an important part of the process because infertility is as much a cognitive as a physiological issue. Therefore, it is advised that those who are having difficulty becoming pregnant naturally seek the advice of an IVF professional, where kind and cutting-edge care is provided.
Defying Age: The Years Long wait of Satyam and Anjana Patel
“There is nothing negative about IVF. It’s a normal medical procedure. At Banker IVF, I experienced zero pain treatment and everyone who wishes to treat infertility and become parents, should come here,” shares Anjana.
In 2002, Satyam and Anjana Patel tied the knot but were unable to conceive. After about 15–17 years of infertility, they chose to have a test tube baby. They felt hopeful after speaking with Doctors at an IVF Centre, and that, having come here, they would succeed.
Sharing their experience, the couples quotes, “Today, our 6-year-old Sathatya is in perfect health, exactly like a child born regularly would be. It is with great care and understanding of doctors that they have made this easier and esteemed for regular people like us. Now we don’t have to spend all our earnings in the hope of any good news but we can actually witness the science creating miracles.”
Dr. Rita Bakshi on Natural IVF
An IVF specialist at the Delhi-based International Fertility Centre, Dr. Rita Bakshi offers valuable insights into the world of natural IVF. She says, “As compared to standard IVF, natural IVF has shown better results. Natural IVF works within a woman’s normal monthly cycle to get naturally released eggs from her ovaries. The single resultant embryo is implanted in her uterus, minimising the chance of multiple births.”
Patients also consider natural IVF over standard IVF as it is more cost-effective and less stressful. The cost of multiple rounds of natural IVF is less than one or two rounds of standard IVF.

In a nutshell, there are different types of IVF that people still have no idea about. The International Fertility Centre conducts natural IVF for around eight patients per month, and it is particularly recommended for older women or those with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), who are at higher risk for hyper stimulation. Despite its benefits, most clinics don’t offer natural IVF due to the high maintenance it requires. The procedure demands a skilled doctor and a dedicated staff to be available round the clock to retrieve the egg from a patient’s ovaries as soon as it matures.
