Clear broth, like chicken or vegetable broth, provides the necessary electrolytes and fluids to prevent dehydration, making it a great choice for the person who is suffering from stomach flu. It helps in replenishing the lost nutrients and provides the much-needed energy. Dr Rawal advices to opt for homemade broth or low-sodium broth to avoid excess salt.

Bananas are easily digestible. They are a rich source of potassium, which helps in replacing electrolytes lost through vomiting and diarrhoea. The content of pectin, a soluble fibre, in bananas can help in bulking up stools and alleviate diarrhoea. Consuming ripe bananas provides an energy boost without putting additional strain on the stomach.

Applesauce is gentle on the stomach and it also contains pectin, which can help in firming up loose stools.
