Struggling With Dark, Pigmented Lips? THIS Is Your (At Home) One Stop Solution

Do you crave soft, naturally rosy lips without depending on chemical-heavy lip balms or pigments? A DIY strawberry beetroot lip scrub is the ideal remedy to gently exfoliate, moisturise, and lighten your lips. This natural remedy not only gives your lips a richer colour but also delivers intense hydration and rejuvenation.

In an exclusive interaction with the editorial team of Onlymyhealth, Dr Sanjeev Gulati, Department of Dermatology, Sharda Hospital - Noida, explained the amazing advantages of applying a strawberry beetroot lip scrub and how to make it at home. Here is what he shared with us.

Why Strawberry and Beetroot?

Strawberries and beetroots are both rich in nutrients that are beneficial for lip health. Here's why they are such a great combination for a lip scrub:

Strawberries: With their high vitamin C and antioxidant content, strawberries gently remove dead skin cells, whiten dull lips, and fight pigmentation.

Beetroot: With its natural colourant, beetroot gives your lips a rosy hue while deeply moisturising and nourishing them.

Sugar: A natural exfoliant that gently removes dry, flaky skin, leaving lips soft and smooth.

Honey: A humectant that traps moisture and keeps lips from chapping.

Coconut Oil: Hydrates deeply and shields from environmental stress.

Advantages of Strawberry Beetroot Lip Scrub

Natural Lip ExfoliationDead skin accumulation can cause lips to appear dry and dull. The mild exfoliating action of sugar with strawberries removes dead skin, exposing new, soft lips.

1. Intensifies Lip Colour

Beetroot's natural pigments slowly give the lips a soft pink colour, fading dark spots and pigmentation with time.

2. Rich Hydration and Nourishment

The honey and coconut oil blend keeps your lips hydrated, avoiding dryness and chapping.

3. Chemical-Free and Affordable

Unlike commercial lip scrubs and tints that use artificial ingredients, this homemade scrub contains no chemicals or preservatives, making it safe for everyday use.

4. Boosts Circulation for Healthier Lips

Massaging scrub on your lips helps to increase blood circulation, giving them a healthy rosy glow.
