The ancient healing method of Ayurvedic spa treatment helps you rejuvenate your body with some cleansing and revitalising procedures. This spa treatment aims at balancing of your doshas which are responsible for the physical and emotional state of your body. You can not only optimally balance your doshas through an Ayurvedic spa but also improve your looks and emotional state. Make sure that you visit a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for this treatment. Thorough diagnosis is a must for such treatments as two people never have identical doshas.

Types of Ayurvedic Spa Treatment

  • Swedana – It is a revitalising herbal steam bath. It is used for detoxification of body and relaxes the muscles. The basic premise of this treatment is to drain out the toxins from the body with sweat. You are placed in a steaming box that covers you entirely for 30 minutes. Some herbal remedies prepared specific to your diagnosis are used to improve the flow of oxygen in your body. The herbal preparation is different for every person taking the spa treatment as it is based on the doshas.
  • Abhyanga – This is basically massaging but the only difference is that medicated oils are used according to your doshas. Two Ayurvedic masseuses work on your body to rid it from toxins and give the much needed relaxation which you sought. It also helps to improve the lymph flows and strengthen the immune system. The process of massaging involves use of warm oil with medicated herbs. This is a good treatment for those who suffer from body aches or pains. It can also be done just to feel more energy in everyday life. You can actually perform it to yourself daily.

Your whole nervous system is positively affected with the deep mental relaxation that comes from this process. This spa treatment is based on the Ayurvedic principle of chakra system in human beings. That is why the centre of the forehead is aimed when the herbal oil is poured on the forehead. It is known as the third-eye chakra.
