Omicron variant has not become a threat with its rising transmissibility rate over the past month. It is infected more than 77 countries till now and India one of them. Even though omicron cases have not yet been very high in India, but increasing cases of infection in past few months are threatening. 10 new cases have been detected of Omicron Variant COVID-19 virus in the national capital today, making total cases of Omicron reach 90 now. The rise in Omicron cases is creating panic among people as 20 out of 90 cases are from Delhi itself.
10 New Omicron Cases in Delhi
Cases of corona virus have created sharp spike in last few days and now with 10 new cases of Omicron variant is devastating. Four cases of Omicron were detected in early this week in Delhi and this sudden rise in Omicron could posses the threat of third wave. In the second wave of delta COVID-19 virus, Delhi was one of the most affected states, which could repeat itself again if precautions are not taken.
People being infected by this new variant of concern have mild symptoms, rest not many details are known till yet. Delhi Health Minister said that 1 out of those 10 earlier patients of Omicron has been discharged from Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital, New Delhi. Others are still in being looked after in the LNJP Hospital along with 10 other detected today. Health Ministers says that new cases have been linked to travel history in recent past.

New Cases of COVID-19 in Delhi
Delhi has recorded 85 fresh cases of COVID-19 other than Omicron today, which is highest in past four months. This has increased the positivity rate by 0.15 percent in Delhi. There has not yet been any directive from the government regarding preventive measures other than closing schools till now.

Omicron Cases in India
With 10 new cases of Omicron in Delhi, the toll has risen to 90 in the country. There has been a sharp spike in number of COVID-19 cases in last few days that is a serious cause of concern. There have been 391 deaths in last 24 hours and active cases are still at 86,415 which is still a lot.
Out of 391 fatalities yesterday, 320 have come from Kerala which is a serious cause of concern for the people and authorities. States that have Omicron cases are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh along with national capital Delhi.
