The aim of homeopathic remedies for treatment of stones is to remove the existing stones and prevent further formation or recurrence of stones.

Small stones (less than 5 mm) usually pass out spontaneously. But bigger stones (greater than 6 mm) need treatment to help in the passage of stone, as well as to relieve the agonizing pain caused while the stone passes. Homeopathic remedies are effective for aiding the passage of stone as well as in relieving the pain.

For big stones, impacted stone, or multiple stones surgical treatment may be needed. Even after the stones are removed surgically homeopathic remedies are recommended. These medicines can help to prevent further recurrence of stones (the risk of stone recurrence is about 70-80%).
