  4. Hooded eyes
  5. Wide set eyes

Eye make-up tips for different eye shapes

1.Almond shaped eyes- Characterised by an upswept outer corner, this is the most common eye shape. Apply a light shade of eye shadow over the entire upper lid, and a darker shade of the same colour towards the outer corner. Highlight just under the brow and use a liner on the upper lid but stop before the outer corner.

2.Oval eyes-
To give an illusion of more height for this eye shape, use eyeliner to draw a fine line close to your lashes on the upper lid, making it slightly thicker towards the centre. If your eyes are small, skip the lower lid, otherwise draw a very fine line under the lower lashes.

3.Round eyes-
To elongate round eyes, use a medium shade of eye shadow over the upper lid upto  the crease, and extend the shadow slightly upwards and outwards towards the brow, as well as downwards towards the lower corner. Work a fine line of eyeliner along the upper lid, but extend slightly beyond and upwards of the upper corner.

And for different placement types

  1. Deep set eyes- To bring the eyes out of their deep sockets and make them ‘pop’, use a light, shimmery shadow over the entire upper lid and a darker highlight at the crease.
  2. Close set eyes- Line only the outer half of the eye and use more mascara at the outer corner to create an illusion of width. Dab a little silver  or pearly white shadow at the inner corner right next to the nose.
  3. Wide set eyes- Apply a dark, coloured liner or smudge a line of eyeshadow along the entire rim of the lower eye, including the corners. Some lighter  coloured shadow should be applied on the middle part of the upper lid.Don’t extend eyeliner outwards.
  4. Prominent eyes- These are convex in shape and appear bulging. To reduce that effect and make eyes recede, apply a dark eyeshadow near the lash line and a lighter one on the crease. Blend upward towards the brow.
  5. Hooded eyes- In this type of eyes, the eyelids appear partially closed. Use a light highlighter on the brow bone, a medium shade along the entire lid and a darker contour shade towards the outer eye. Finish with liner and mascara and your eyes will diaplay a beauty and exuberance most radiant!
