What is Acne Vulgaris?
Acne Vulgaris is the most common form of acne that occurs due to overproduction of sebum oil in the skin glands. Other factors such as dandruff, digestive problems and sunburns also lead to it. Of all age groups, acne vulgaris is common in teenagers as their skin is most sensitive. Usually, when the skin is left unclean for longer periods of time, it leads to clogged pores, blackheads, whiteheads and papules.
Acne Vulgaris usually grows fainter if taken care of properly and also with the use of right medication. However, in severe conditions, this seemingly harmless acne has chances of reappearing and growing into cysts. The solution to this is to remove the accumulated grease from the face from time-to-time. In women, acne vulgaris might occur due to hormonal imbalances or irregular menstrual pattern. This requires medical help for the menstrual cycle to return to normal. Smoking is another cause that triggers acne, apart from sunrays and overexposure to pollution.
Also, some people are allergic to certain chemicals such as cortisones, iodine, lithium or isoniazid that are found in many medicines. Sufficient help should be taken from dermatologists and health care practitioners in case of an outbreak and also to avoid further acne vulgaris attacks.
