A toddler in Indonesia is suffering from a rare brain defect which has caused her head to inflate thrice the normal size. The rare condition is called hydrocephalus, which restricts the movement of spinal fluid through the brain.
Dilla Anargia Adilla, age three years, was found to have a skull that is growing at an alarming rate. This is due to the spinal fluid getting accumulated in her head. She had the symptoms of the disease at birth, with her head’s measure just a little oversized. Now, its measure is 100 cm from one ear to the other.
Dilla’s father Azwar Anas is a driver who does not earn enough to pay for the treatment of his child, as it would amount to two months of his salary. Even the doctors in Indonesia are not willing to undertake the operation as the child’s condition is deteriorating with each passing day.
Dilla has a sister apart from her father and mother in the family and they live in Bogor, Indonesia. The condition is believed to have been due to an infection that Dilla’s mother developed when pregnant. The family members are hoping for a miracle as doctors put their hands up.
