He has been a national swimming champion, achieved feats like the Ironman and Ultraman. The actor even ran from Delhi to Mumbai. Moreover, his workout videos go viral on social media, every now and then. Naturally, his fitness secret still remains a topic of interest.

When asked whether there are any specific health rules he follows, Soman said: “It’s not complicated to be healthy and fit. You don’t need rules. The main thing is you should want to be healthy and you should want to be fit. When you want it, then you will find the way. And it is not difficult.”

Shedding light on what keeps him fit, he shares, “If it's about exercise, I can do 10 minutes of exercise in a day. I don't have a diet. I eat less packaged food, less refined food, but I eat everything else. I eat whenever I want.” Soman adds, “Eat the kind of food your body can digest easily. Sleeping on time is also important. The other thing is activity. You don't even need much exercise. Just to be active. You don't even need to go to the gym. You can workout at home; I do that too. I never go to the gym.”

Soman also emphasises that health is basically what your body is comfortable with. “So the need is that you understand what you need. Don't ask anyone. Through your own experience, you will know what you need mentally as well as physically. And do those things every day. Whether it is for 1 minute or 5 minutes. And most importantly, be happy and positive.”

‘My Mother Is An Inspiration’: Milind Soman On Women’s Health

Speaking about creating awareness around women’s health, Soman said: “We need inspiration at the family level. It’s not just about running the household, women should also inspire their children by taking time out for themselves. I have experienced this myself. My mother is very fit. She is 86 – she still goes for a hike, engages in skipping, she exercises more than me – It is because she realised that she needs to be an example. She started working out at 60. After retirement, she started hiking. She became an inspiration to everyone. These are the values that are picked up by the children.”

Speaking about the importance of early detection of breast cancer at the event, he said: “If you understand your body, and you begin to understand your mind, you can catch any disease early; and then, it becomes easier to cure. So breast cancer is in fact one of the curable cancers – if it is caught in the early stages.”

Milind Soman has been one of the biggest advocates for women’s health and wellness. To take this advocacy forward, he founded Pinkathon – India’s biggest women’s marathon – in 2012. In 2025–2026, Pinkathon returns to six major cities across India.

Returning to the capital after six and half years, the Zydus Pinkathon Delhi will feature race categories from 3 km, Lifelong 5 km, and 10 km to ultradistances of 50 km, 75 km, 100 km, and 100 km relay. Speaking about how this marathon creates awareness around women’s health, the fitness icon said, “Delhi has always been an important part of Pinkathon’s story, and coming back for the eighth edition feels like picking up a conversation that never really stopped.”

“Over the years, thousands of women in this city have shown up, run, walked, and grown with the platform. What we saw in Mumbai was that same energy at scale, and Delhi is ready for that again, women stepping into fitness in ways that feel personal, welcoming, and sustainable,” Soman concludes.
