BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Divya Shree K R is a distinguished Consultant in Psychiatry and Counselling Services at Aster CMI Hospital in Bangalore, recognized for her rigorous academic background and commitment to advancing mental health research. She completed her MBBS from Bangalore Medical College and her DPM from the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in May 2007. Dedicated to specialized care, she also holds a Certificate in Palliative Care from the Indian Association of Palliative Care. Before joining Aster CMI, Dr. Shree held significant roles, including Consultant Neuropsychiatrist and Head of De-addiction at People Tree Hospital and as a Research Officer at AIIMS, New Delhi. As both a clinician and a researcher, she has conducted pioneering work, including being a co-investigator on a groundbreaking study comparing the cognitive effects of Lithium-ECT combination treatment, which was the first of its kind and won the South Zone award for Young Researchers in 2007. Her research, which also includes novel data on psychiatric morbidity in Indian asthmatic children and studies on hypermobility and chronic musculoskeletal pain, has been presented at international conferences like EULAR. With extensive experience across top institutions like NIMHANS, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, and Christian Medical College, Dr. Shree brings a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to patient care, leveraging her deep expertise in addressing complex neuropsychiatric conditions.
