Ingredients
Take one cup kaala chana (soaked overnight), salt as per taste, one teaspoon ghee, half teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds), and one finely chopped green chilli.
What More Do You Need?
One inch finely chopped ginger, one teaspoon cumin powder, coriander powder, amchur (dried mango powder), and red chilli powder.
Preparation
Before starting making the recipe, ensure the chickpeas are soaked overnight for at least 6-8 hours.
Transfer
Take the soaked black chickpeas and transfer them into a pressure cooker. Add one cup water and salt as per your taste.
Cook
Close the lid of the cooker and cook for about 5-6 whistles. After the whistles, cook for about 20 minutes on low heat.
Drain
Once the pressure from the cooker releases naturally, drain out the excess water from the chickpeas.
Add Ingredients
Heat a pan with ghee in it on medium flame. Once the ghee melts, roast cumin and carom seeds.
Add Spices
Once the seeds are roasted, reduce the heat and add ginger, green chillies, amchur powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, and mix well.
Mix Chana
Once all the spices are mixed, add kaala chana to it and mix for 3-4 minutes on low flame until well combined.
Serve
Once the chickpeas are covered in masala, your tasty and savoury dish is ready to be served. Transfer the dish in a serving bowl and serve!
