Spine osteoarthritis occurs when the facet joints wear down, causing lower back pain. The risk of osteoarthritis increases with weight and age.
Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis occurs when bone mineral density decreases. It is most common in women after menopause due to low estrogen levels leading to lower back pain.
Muscle Strain
Muscle strain occurs due to improper lifting or bending, sometimes causing injury or chronic strain, leading to lower back pain.
Degenerative Disc Disease
When the discs in the spine degenerate or damage due to injury or age, it causes lower back pain, weakness and sometimes numbness.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy can also lead to lower back pain due to the loosening of ligament in the pelvic area, muscle weakness, and pressure on the nerves.

Kidney problems, such as kidney stones, infections, and more can cause lower back pain. It is often caused at one side of the back.
