Eyes are a sensitive yet crucial part of the body. Too much work by eyes can cause eye strain and they might dry out, which can be painful. Here are a few ways you can combat screen strain. Tap to read!
20-20-20 Rule
Follow the 20-20-20 rule to prevent eyestrain. The rule is to shift your focus every 20 minutes and should be 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Adjust Lighting
The bright light from the device makes the eyes work hard, therefore adjusting the light in the room and device can help combat screen strain.
Keep Your Eyes Moist
Looking at the screen for a long period of time dries out the eyes. You can use eye drops or humidifiers to keep the eyes moist.
Wear Eye Protection
The UV rays from the device can damage the eyes. It is advisable to wear eye protection such as UV lens glasses or lenses to protect them from harmful rays.
Maintain Distance
Maintaining distance from devices can help reduce screen strain. Keep the device at least a foot away from your eyes and ensure it is at your eye level.
Don’t Use Devices Before Bed
Using a device before bed disrupts the circadian rhythm (natural wake and sleep cycle) of the body as the blue light from it makes it harder to sleep.
Check The Air
The air quality also matters to reduce screen strain. If the air quality is poor then it is highly possible that the eyes will dry out and will get irritated.
