Ingredients
Half a cup of chana dal, half a cup of raw peanuts, one teaspoon of salt, two teaspoons of mustard oil, a pinch of asafoetida (hing), 2-3 green chillies, half a teaspoon of cumin seeds, half a teaspoon of mustard seeds, three red chillies, one clove of garlic, a few curry leaves, and one cup of water.
Roast channa dal and peanuts
Take a pan and add peanuts with channa dal. Dry roast the peanuts and chana dal over a medium flame until they turn golden brown.
Combine ingredients
Take a mixer and add peanuts, garlic, green chillies, cumin seeds, and water. Blend it until smooth and creamy.
Prepare to temper
Heat coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, red chillies, urad dal, curry leaves and hing. Cook it until starts to crackle.
Add tempering
Now, pour the prepared tempering over blended peanut chutney. Cook chutney for a minute and add salt.
Serve
Let the chutney cool down to room temperature and transfer the chutney to a bowl. Serve it as a side dish with dosas, idli and vadas.
