Has your face been feeling bumpy and uneven lately? Well, it is important to know that not all blemishes are acne or pimples. Here are seven types of small bumps that look identical to acne:

COMEDONES

They are classified into two categories: blackheads and whiteheads. These bumps are formed when skin pores get clogged with dirt, dead skin, and excess oil.

MILIA

Do not confuse it with whiteheads. Milia are tiny cysts formed by the hardening of dead skin cells trapped under your skin. They are most likely to appear near the eyes and nose.

PERIORIFICIAL DERMATITIS

This skin condition causes small, itchy clusters of small bumps on the face. They are more likely to appear around your mouth and spread all over your face.

FOLLICULITIS

This kind of bump is caused by inflammation of the hair follicles. Although, this condition is more likely to affect the arms, legs, and chest.

FUNGAL ACNE

Contrary to its name, Fungal Acne is a type of folliculitis called Pityrosporum folliculitis. These small bumps are caused by yeast infecting the hair follicles.

ROSACEA

This skin condition can cause your face to look flushed and inflamed. It is often accompanied by small pus-filled bumps.

HEAT RASH

This is a very common problem that occurs during hot and humid weather. These small bumps are caused by the blocked opening of sweat glands.

CONCLUSION

While some skin bumps are harmless, it is important to consult your dermatologist to find a solution that is best suited to your problem.
