Symptoms of chikungunya
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), symptoms of dengue include high fever, intense headaches, body aches, joint pains, fatigue, nausea, and skin rashes.
Wear protective clothing
Wear long-sleeved clothes and pants to cover yourself. Wear light-coloured clothes during peak biting hours.
Use mosquito repellents
When going outside or inside, apply mosquito repellent creams or spray to your body. Use camphor or neem oil to repel mosquitoes.
Remove standing water
Eliminate stagnant water near your house or on your terrace. Contaminated water with plastic items such as covers, flower pots, and water bowls breeds mosquitoes.
Keep your house clean and dry
Mosquitoes frequently visit places that are moist and dark. Make sure your home or room is well-lit to prevent mosquitoes from entering.
Use mosquito nets
Use mosquito nets to prevent mosquito bites while you sleep, especially in areas where mosquitoes are common.
