Ingredients
Half cup of almonds, half cup grated coconut, 3-4 Kashmiri red chillies, one teaspoon of tamarind paste, half a teaspoon cumin seeds, a pinch of hing or asafoetida, salt to taste, two tablespoons of coconut oil, half cup water, 5-6 curry leaves, half teaspoon of urad dal, and one teaspoon of mustard seeds.
Soak almonds
Soak almonds Take a bowl with hot water and soak the almonds in it for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, strain the water and peel the skin.
Grind almonds
Remove the skin and add the soaked almonds to a mixer with water. Grind it into a smooth paste.
Add spices
Now, add chillies, ginger, coconut, and salt. Grind it again for 2-3 minutes until all the spices are combined.
Prepare to season
Heat coconut oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, hing, curry leaves and red chillies to it. Heat the oil until it starts to sputter.
Add the seasoning
Add the prepared over the smooth chutney paste. Stir it well to combine and pair this chutney with dosa or idlis.
