During each menstrual cycle, an egg develops which is released from the ovaries. The lining of the uterus adds up that helps a woman in getting pregnant. Here are the four stages of female menstrual cycle.
Menstrual Stage
This is the first stage of a menstrual cycle. This stage is known when a woman gets her period. One may experience cramps, bloating and mood swings in this stage.
Follicular Stage
This is the second stage of a menstrual cycle that starts on the first day and ends when the woman ovulates.
Ovulation Stage
Ovulation is when the ovaries release a mature egg. Symptoms of ovulation include rise in body temperature and/or thicker vaginal discharge.
Luteal Phase
The egg is changed into corpus luteum after the egg is released from the follicle. This stage lasts for about 10-15 days.
